This special performance is in support of Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, a charity dedicated to providing vital care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Programme:
- Te Deum in C Major (Marie Therese) – A joyous, celebratory (and short!) choral work
- Symphony No. 101 (“The Clock”) – One of Haydn’s most beloved symphonies, known for its 2nd movement complete with ticking clock!
- Missa in Angustiis (“Nelson” Mass) – A powerful and dramatic mass, considered one of Haydn’s greatest sacred compositions, reputedly performed in honour of a visit by Lord Nelson and Emma Hamilton, along with the Te Deum.
